Laura Whitmore has added to the sexual harassment discussion... it's The Dredge
EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.
TV presenter and model Laura Whitmore shared a small piece of her experience with sexual harassment in the entertainment industry on Twitter.
The 32-year-old Bray native shared the Maureen O’Hara interview that went incredibly viral earlier this week to her Twitter account. The O’Hara interview segment slammed unnamed producers and directors who felt entitled to kiss and touch actresses, and it also condemned those who suggest that women who reject them are frigid.
Whitmore added her own experience, noting that little has changed:
Whitmore then wrote:
Laura previously spoke out about being made to feel ‘incredibly uncomfortable‘ by Harvey Weinstein. Whitmore said she ‘feared for her safety’ around Harvey Weinstein, who reportedly offered to boost her career. Whitmore rejected Weinstein and remains “so glad” that she did. (The Irish Mirror)
Kim Kardashian’s best friend Jonathon Cheban is set to legally change his name to ‘Foodgod’.
The reality TV star wants to synchronise his identity with his social media presence by making his Instagram username his name in real life.
Cheban even has ‘Foodgod’ tattooed on his wrist. He uses his Instagram to post photographs of ridiculously indulgent food and ridiculously huge portion sizes.
He also runs a website called Foodgod (would you believe), where he talks about the best places to get food across the world and discusses upcoming trends like ‘doffles’ (donuts and waffles combined. Lord have mercy on us). (Us Weekly)
People are speculating that Kanye West could be about to launch his own streaming service.
According to The Blast, Kanye filed for a trademark this month that will cover a range of services including “streaming of music, audio, images, video and other multimedia content, over the internet.” The trademark was made under the name ‘Yeezy Sound’.
Kanye West has been feuding with TIDAL (the Jay-Z owned music streaming service) for a while, as part of a long-running dispute between himself and Jay Z. The two men are working on settling their differences according to NME.
Kanye also made his first live appearance in almost a year, by joining Kid Cudi on stage in Chicago earlier this week to surprise fans. Kanye was hospitalised shortly after his last concert for his ‘own health and safety’ and has been focusing on recovering his mental health ever since. (NME)
